About my photography
As a trained photojournalist, I am interested in capturing moments in time, snippets of daily life as they occur….the unusual, the mundane, the ugly, the beautiful. I am equally interested in animals, plants, people, places and objects.

My photos are a collaboration of the utilitarian and the creative. Although I often tweak photos during the editing process, I attempt not to interfere with the live subject(s) and typically take a photo within 2-5 seconds of spotting the shot. What you see therefore is my first impression, emphasized and idealized through the manipulation of light and color. So, while the photojournalist is responsible for bringing home the bacon, it is the artist who preps and cooks the final meal.

Disclaimer
A few of these photos were taken as part of shoots conducted for marketing campaigns; however, while the dress and location were chosen, the models were given free reign to move about as they chose. Those photos shot on location will be indicated with an *.

Unleashed

A Greater Purpose

I don’t believe the purpose of life is to just be happy. Why would God take fourteen billion years to produce highly evolved sentient life-forms that would ultimately develop the extraordinary capacity for self-reflective awareness, simply in order for them to be able to experience happiness? It’s my conviction that we are here for a reason, that there is a grand and great purpose to our presence in this universe, and that none of us are going to truly find what we are looking for unless we get over our misguided pursuit of personal happiness and connect with that greater sense of purpose—that ultimate reason for being. - Andrew Cohen

Captain: Love. You can learn all the math in the verse, but you take a boat in the air that you don’t love, she’ll shake you off just as sure as the turning of worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she oughta fall down, tells you she’s hurtin’ before she keels. Makes her a home.

Whether it was three years ago, today, or still to come, whether it is just a moment, a whole day, or a whole summer, everyone has a time in their life where they wish that everything would just stop.
If you want something to last forever, you treat it differently. You shield it and protect it. You never abuse it. You don’t make it common or ordinary.
