About my photography
As a trained photojournalist, I am interested in capturing moments in time, snippets of daily life as they occur....the unusual, the mundane, the ugly, the beautiful. I am equally interested in animals, plants, people, places and objects.
My photos are a collaboration of the utilitarian and the creative. Although I often tweak photos during the editing process, I attempt not to interfere with the live subject(s) and typically take a photo within 2-5 seconds of spotting the shot. What you see therefore is my first impression, emphasized and idealized through the manipulation of light and color. So, while the photojournalist is responsible for bringing home the bacon, it is the artist who preps and cooks the final meal.
